Recruitment Statement for Research Participation

1. Gary Alderson is inviting you to participate in this research study.  The title of this study is:  The Continued Development and Validation of the Degree Search Profile.  The purpose of this study is to examine additional psychometric properties on the Degree Search Profile.

2. Your participation in this study will involve completing the Degree Search Profile, a Demographic Questionnaire, and the RIASEC Self-Description Questionnaire.  Your participation should last approximately 15 minutes.

3. The risks to you as a participant are minimal.  These include everyday living and possibly very minor stress answering the questions.  You must be at least 18 to participate in this study.

4. The results of this study may be published in scientific research journals or presented at professional conferences.  However, your name and identity will not be revealed and your record will remain anonymous.  Your name or other personal identifying information will not appear anywhere in the materials we collect from you.

5. Participation in this study may benefit you directly.  The possible benefits to you consist of feedback about your interests, self-efficacy beliefs, and personality, which may provide you with greater insight about yourself.

6. You can choose not to participate, and you may withdraw from this study at any time.
